Future Brownsburg Home of B&O Trail and Trailhead (August 2005) - After years of hard work the Brownsburg portion of the B&O Trail and trailhead is available to purchase. The land is located south of Brownsburg and to the east of S.R. 267. The trailhead will serve as a trail access point in the Brownsburg area. As with any trail system, not only is the trail needed, but strategically placed trailheads are also important. Trailheads provide parking, rest areas, and trail user information. Trail users will be able to turn directly from S.R. 267 into the trailhead parking area! We need your help to make the Brownsburg B&O Trail and trailhead come to life! The B&O Trail Association is launching a fundraising campaign targeted specifically at purchasing land for this portion of the trail and a strategic trailhead. We are fortunate that a federal Transportation Enhancement Act grant will match local contributions 4-to-1 for this $120,000 purchase. We only need to raise $24,000 as our local match! This is a win-win opportunity for the trail and for the donors! We already have $3,400 donated towards our $24,000 goal. 100% of your donation will go towards the purchase! Every $1 donated will generate $4 of Federal grant funds! Your contribution is tax deductible! After many years of planning, your trail is coming alive! We will be tracking the progress of our fund raising efforts and posting them on our website. Stop in and see how your contributions are making a difference at www.BOTrail.org!
